You need a break so why not schedule some time away with your valentine, away from the every day grind and enjoy a nice meal in a secluded restaurant far away from hustle and bustle? Walk streets filled with art galleries, original shops, stables, and a 20-room inn. In the Atlanta area or even closer the Peachtree City area, you don't have to drive far. Serenbe is a 1,000 acre community located under 30 minutes from Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, located only a few short miles outside of Palmetto and from me, only 20minutes away.
Serenbe was named as a play on the phrase “Be Serene” and that it is. It’s founders devoted 30 acres to farming—the Serenbe Farm is certified organic and biodynamic with a thriving CSA program and Saturday markets and features three unique restaurants.
If you are looking for a quiet and romantic place to go for you and your valentine, look no further. Senebe’s has three fantastic restaurants to choose from.
The Blue Eyed Daisy Bakeshop, the nation’s smallest Silver LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building, not only serves a full country breakfast, it is a great place for a quick but really tasty lunch. Choose from classic sandwiches, salads, soup specials.
The Farmhouse Restaurant has been featured has in the New York Times, Bon Appetit & Gourmet, and was named a “Best New Restaurant” in 2007 by Atlanta Magazine. Originally Serenbe’s founders, Marie and Steve Nygen’s family run bed-and-breakfast they now serve both lunch and dinner using Southern recipe’s from Marie’s storied recipe box, and highlight the Serenbe farm’s fresh produce.
And last but certainly not least The Hil Restaurant, named for Chef Hilary White, she and her husband Jim envisioned a refined yet casual atmosphere and are dedicated to serving simple, farm-fresh cuisine. Featured in Food and Wine Magazine and named the best new restaurant in both the AJC and Atlanta Magazine the menu changes quite frequently. Each day Chef Hilary and Farmer Paige from Serenbe’s Organic Farm evaluate which produce is best suited for harvest and it is from this that each evenings menu is constructed. The Hil serves dinner Tuesday through Sunday, lunch on Fridays and brunch on Saturdays and Sundays and takes pride in their trademark of warmth, consistency and superior service.
